Minor Policy - Piercings

 

 

O.C.G.A. 16-5-71.1 (2010) 16-5-71.1. Piercing of the body

 

- (a)  It shall be unlawful for any person to pierce the body, with the exception of the perimeter or lobe of the ear, of any person under the age of 18 for the purpose of allowing the insertion of earrings, jewelry, or similar objects into the body, unless the person's legal parent, custodian, or guardian with proper identification, is present and signs a consent form provided by the body art establishment.

1) Minor must be at least 13 years of age and can only receive a basic lobe piercing. 

 

2) Minors, 14-17 years of age, can receive the full range of ear piercings

 

4) Parent/legal guardian must accompany the minor(s).

 

5) Parent/legal guardian must provide proof of guardianship i.e. birth certificate or signed legal guardianship paperwork.

 

6) Parent/legal guardian must provide photo I.D. (physical copy only, no pictures) for both themselves and the minor(s). Examples include driver's license or passport for the parent/legal guardian; driver's license, learner's permit, school ID, or passport.

7) IF YOU ARE NOT THE PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN OF THE MINOR, WITH PROOF OF GUARDIANSHIP, YOU CANNOT SIGN FOR THE MINOR.


We must be able to prove that you have guardianship/custody of the minor receiving the piercing. Georgia law requires it.
We will not be able to perform a piercing without the proper documentation.
